Getting My Back Fixed Once And For All

After suffering with terrible back pain for years, I knew that I couldn't go on living with the trouble. I was tired of being tired all the time and having trouble getting in and out of bed and cars, so I decided that it was time to meet with a licensed chiropractor. My experience was incredible. The doctor was able to go through, fix my back, and resolve most of my back pain in a single visit. It was incredible to feel the difference after it was over. I want everyone out there to understand the benefits of chiropractic care, which is why I made this blog.

Different Types Of Chiropractic Adjustments

If you have joint, neck, or back pain, you should try chiropractic adjustment. This is a drug-free treatment that aims to restore joint function, alleviate pain, and increase mobility. Many people are familiar with chiropractic spinal manipulations. However, there are many other therapies used by chiropractors. Here are some standard chiropractic therapies.

The Gonstead Adjustment

This chiropractic treatment is used to treat misalignment and fixations in the spine. The treatment restores normal disc alignment and mobility. The therapy can be administered while the patient is seated or lying.

Gonstead is different from other chiropractic therapies because it focuses on your body's intervertebral discs and structural foundation. A Gonstead chiropractor uses x-rays, motion, and static palpation, and instrumentation to make a diagnosis. The practitioner will examine nerve dysfunction, motion disturbances, spinal misalignments, and foundational imbalance.

Thompson Drop Chiropractic Technique

This approach analyzes the length of your legs and how it affects your spine and pelvis. The chiropractor uses a drop table to make joint adjustments using multiple thrusts. When the doctor applies some force on a joint, the drop table is set into motion to target that specific joint.

The Thompson Drop chiropractic approach uses a line of correction that is gentle on your discs and joints. The treatment table provides low force and high-velocity adjustments. After the therapy, the patient will feel a warm sensation flowing through different parts of their body.

Diversified Technique Treatments

This is a direct thrust technique where the chiropractor uses their hands to apply a rapid thrust to different areas of your spine. The treatment produces a cracking sound resulting from the escaping gas released when the joint moves past its motion range.

The direct thrust therapy is suitable for patients suffering from lumbar disk herniation. This condition works on neck and back pain, headaches, whiplash, or misaligned joints. However, though the treatment gives instant pain relief, it's considered riskier than other manipulative techniques due to the force employed.

Therapeutic Exercise

Apart from administering different spinal and joint adjustments, chiropractors also prescribe strengthening exercises for patients suffering from neck and back problems. The exercises prevent muscle deterioration, minimize pain, and promote joint health. When you perform these exercises, you'll experience increased strength and stability.

Your chiropractor will guide you on performing these exercises and supervise you until you can perform them independently. You should keep up with these exercises as prescribed just like you would drug prescriptions. Reach out to a professional to discuss what adjustments you need.
